God wants to be found by you more than you want to find him. That’s why we can promise that, if you seek him with an open heart and an open mind, you will find him. He’ll make himself known to you.

There’s no universal timetable for crossing the distance to God. Sometimes it happens quickly, and sometimes it happens over months and years. But we have found that, for many people, taking a methodical, daily approach over a relatively short— but not too short— period of time is just right.

So consider using this thirty-day guide. All you need to do is set aside fifteen minutes or so per day to reflect on a personal question, record some of your thoughts, and pray one of the five simple prayers taught in Finding Your Way Back to God. We believe that the process will help you find God, feel full of joy, and know you are his unconditionally loved child!

If you want to believe this claim is true but you’re not so sure it is, our advice is that you take a bet that it is true. Make a wager with God by praying this prayer:

God if your real, real make yourself real to me.

If we are wrong, and God doesn't make himself real to you, what have you lost? A few minutes of your time. But if we are right the payoff will be the most important relationship you could ever have.

As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God? My tears have been my food day and night, while people say to me all day long, “Where is your God?” These things I remember as I pour out my soul: how I used to go to the house of God under the protection of the Mighty One with shouts of joy and praise among the festive throng. Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.
