We believe that God has called Faith Mountain to love people in such a way that it transforms the lives of those who experience it. Jesus has a radical love for people and we desire to have His heart as we love people to life in Lakewood.
In John 13:35 Jesus says that the marker of His followers is love. We are called to love people unconditionally with the same type of love that He demonstrated to us.
In John 14 Jesus says that He is life and we can only truly know life through Him. He also tells us in John 10 that He came so that we could know the fullest expression of life possible.
Loving people to life is our way of expressing the mission that Jesus has given to the global church (meaning the entire church throughout history). That mission comes from the teachings of Jesus Christ as found in "The Greatest Commandment" and "The Great Commission".
Jesus replied: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: "Love your neighbor as yourself." - Matthew 22:37-39 (NIV)
Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everythingI have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. - Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV)
In short, we believe that the church exists to:
"Love God with all that you are...
Love Others like they are family...
Create Followers of God's Son."
